Confidence in a great product

Process

Our Process

We raise our own beef to ensure proper treatment of the livestock and the correct mixture of grasses and corn are fed to them. This balanced mixture keeps beef with a desirable amount fat content on the animals. It produces beef that are not too lean as the flavor will be bland, but not too fat as this is unhealthy for the animals and produces lower quality meat. (Click here for more info on meat quality)

We butcher, cure, cut, wrap, label, and flash freeze onsite. All products are wrapped with industry standard double wrap cellophane and heavy freezer paper. Our building is inspected under state regulations.

History

Our History

Young Jim 1.jpg

It all started in the mid 1970s. Our founder Jim Field started working at Rose's Abattoir after high-school. He later purchased the Rose's facility and established Field's Custom Slaughtering from the family name in 1992. In 2009 we built our new facility on the family farm. We are a second generation business (working on a third) that provides meat cutting and processing services to Western Pennsylvania, Western New York, and Eastern Ohio.

Mission

Our Mission

In today's world there is a lot of uncertainty, from availability, to meat quality, and questionable additives (that we do NOT use). FCS can give you peace of mind knowing where your food comes from, and that it is raised right, and handled properly.

We are dedicated to providing great quality meat products to our customers and their families. By using food safety guidelines, clean practices, and a good amount of common sense, we know you will enjoy each meal around the dinner table and family events for years to come.
